Becks is the former National Police Training Lead for Hostage and Crisis Negotiation, bringing over 30 years of experience operating within high-threat and complex environments. She has delivered world-class training to specialist teams globally, preparing them to manage high-stakes situations involving hostage taking, crisis response, kidnap and extortion and strategic negotiation. Her programmes have supported the FBI, Special Forces, and Policing units across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

At a national level, Becks has developed policy and operational guidance informed by extensive frontline and command experience. She provides specialist consultancy and training in negotiation mastery, risk and crisis management.

She also serves as the Counter Terrorism Director of the International Professional Security Association (IPSA).

Holding a Master’s degree in Counter Terrorism, Becks has played a key role in modernising UK negotiation practice through research led and evidence based methodologies.
