Katey Martin is a highly accomplished negotiator with more than 30 years of experience in law enforcement, specialising in hostage, crisis, and counter-terrorism negotiation, with extensive expertise in kidnap and extortion cases. Trained by both the FBI and Scotland Yard, she was a founding member of the UK Counter-Terrorism Negotiation Team.

 

As the UK Lead for Counter-Terrorism Negotiation Training, Katey designed and delivered government-mandated programmes for law enforcement and security agencies across the globe. She co-authored the European Union’s official guidance on counter-terrorism negotiation and led the EU’s inaugural training courses, influencing international policy and operational standards.

 

A former Hostage, Crisis, and Counter-Terrorism Negotiator and Kidnap Commander, Katey played a key role in the UK Government’s response to complex international kidnap cases and has led numerous high-stakes operations both domestically and overseas.
